Agriculture students at GKVK University in Bengaluru are protesting against recruitment rules for over 900 Agriculture Officer and Assistant Agriculture Officer posts, alleging that non-agriculture graduates, including BE/BTech biochemistry candidates, are being given eligibility.
After a 15-day sit-in on campus without a government response, students locked the Dean's office and demanded the recruitment rules be withdrawn.
A protesting student warned that if demands are not met, they will hold a large gathering at Freedom Park and lay siege to Vidhana Soudha.
