The rebate window for converting B-Khata properties to A-Khata in Bengaluru closed on August 23 with only 80,412 applications, about 12% of an estimated over 7 lakh eligible properties.
Despite a reduced conversion charge of 2% of guidance value, participation was low until a surge of 32,000 applications in the final nine days, and the applications have so far generated ₹525.7 crore in revenue for the corporations.
Officials said many applications are still under review and revenue could rise, but there are no current discussions on extending the rebate.
