- Clean Green Panunda, a registered voluntary collective in Panunda village in Kannur's Pinarayi panchayat, Kerala, has grown from one man's pothole repairs seven years ago into an organisation with over 180 registered members and a WhatsApp network of around 250 volunteers.
- Every Sunday, more than 60 volunteers clean nearly 3 km of roads, bus shelters and public spaces, maintain over 700 ornamental plants and 150 trees, and promote waste segregation and organic farming.
- The group operates without government grants or major corporate sponsorship, funding itself through public contributions, auctions of donated items, and support from residents and expatriates.
- It has also provided three-bin waste segregation systems to more than 150 households and runs monthly awareness programmes on health, cybercrime and drug abuse.
