Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials arrested three people, including two women, at Gorakhpur railway station in Uttar Pradesh and seized 5.088 kg of Nepal-origin charas worth about ₹5.08 crore.
The contraband was hidden in 11 packets concealed inside knee caps wrapped around the women's thighs under their sarees.
The three were travelling on the Amarnath Express from Sugauli in Bihar to Ludhiana in Punjab and were arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985.
The seizure is part of the agency's ongoing crackdown on cross-border narcotics trafficking through the region.
