Vijayanagara district authorities are carrying out a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list and have distributed 30,184 of 30,622 notices, about 98.56 per cent.
Only 10,983 hearings, about 39.51 per cent, have been completed so far while 19,047 hearings remain in progress.
October 12 is the deadline to finish hearings and October 22 is set for final disposal of objections.
A special voter registration drive will be held across the district on September 19 and 20, and a total of 48,044 applications were received between June 16 and September 16.
The exercise matters because eligible applications will be added to the final draft voter list to be published on January 19, deciding who appears on the rolls.
