- Uttar Pradesh police have announced traffic restrictions on the Delhi-Haridwar highway and Ganga Canal road in Muzaffarnagar for the Kanwar Yatra 2026, which runs from 30 July to 11 August.
- Heavy vehicles will be restricted from 30 July, and all vehicles will be banned on those routes from 4 to 12 August to keep the pilgrimage smooth.
- Authorities have also set up a temporary police station at Rampur Tiraha, planned police divers at bathing spots, and directed extra patrolling, CCTV cameras and drones.
- UPSRTC will run additional buses, including 350 buses on the Ghaziabad-Haridwar route, to handle the surge of lakhs of devotees carrying Ganga water to Shiva temples.
