Telangana Food Safety Department officials inspected an unlicensed food establishment in Attapur, Hyderabad following a complaint through the Food Safety Help Desk.
They discarded nearly 3,000 pani puris, 4 kg of samosas and 2 litres of reused cooking oil after finding violations including housefly infestation, blackened reused oil, poor sanitation, open drainage and food handlers without protective gear.
Food samples were sent for laboratory analysis, operations at the establishment have been stopped, and action has been initiated against the operator under the Food Safety and Standards Act.
