The Indian Coast Guard airlifted a 21-year-old seafarer suffering from acute chest pain and high fever from the ship MT Murlikisan off the Porbandar coast on 26 July 2026.
The evacuation was carried out in rough seas and adverse weather, using an Advanced Light Helicopter to winch the patient from the vessel.
He was flown to the Coast Guard Air Enclave, stabilised by Coast Guard doctors, and shifted to hospital for further treatment.
The rescue follows a similar medical evacuation of a 29-year-old mariner from a tanker off the Goa coast a few days earlier.
