The Parasuram Express running between Kanniyakumari and Mangaluru Central will be converted from conventional ICF coaches to modern LHB coaches.
The change takes effect from the train departing Mangaluru Central on September 22 and the return train departing Kanniyakumari on September 23.
The revised rake will have 22 LHB coaches, including two AC chair cars, three reserved second sitting coaches, six unreserved second sitting coaches, nine general second class coaches, one second class coach for the differently abled, and one luggage cum power car.
Southern Railways said the upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to modernise rolling stock and improve passenger convenience.
