Villupuram District Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman chaired a meeting at the Collectorate on Tuesday to review preparedness for the northeast monsoon.
Line departments were asked to map vulnerable areas, build a database of identified areas with first respondents, and audit relief camps and basic amenities.
Departments were assessed on rescue and relief readiness, including earthmovers, motor boats, tree cutters, diesel generators and sand bags.
The revenue and public works departments were directed to desilt waterbodies and set up embankments and culverts to prevent flooding.
