The Karnataka government has added Molakalmuru, Chitradurga and Holalkere taluks to its drought-affected list in the third phase.
With this addition, all six taluks of Chitradurga district are now declared drought-hit.
Only Hosadurga, Challakere and Hiriyur taluks were included in the first phase list.
Protests had taken place at taluk centres after the remaining three taluks were left out, including a Molakalmuru bandh and a call for a district bandh.
The declaration of the remaining three taluks brings relief to the district, and the agitation has been called off.
