Heavy monsoon rain over the Western Ghats in Maharashtra has swollen the Ghataprabha and Krishna rivers in Karnataka's Belagavi district, with eight bridges submerged across the region.
Hidkal reservoir inflow rose from 11,487 cusecs on Wednesday to 16,872 cusecs on Thursday, while the Krishna river at Kallolli in Chikkodi taluk was flowing at 86,840 cusecs, up from 76,288 cusecs.
Naviluteertha reservoir inflow dipped slightly as rain eased in the Khanapur taluk forest area.
