Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, while speaking on the anti-paper-leak bill in Parliament on Thursday, explained why he had stayed silent on the NEET paper leak controversy.
He said that when he was in the opposition his job was to raise questions, but now that he is on the treasury bench his role is to provide solutions, so he chose to speak only when the government brought a fix.
He told NEET students their anger and pain were justified and said the government has brought a first-of-its-kind framework against paper leaks, including a fast-track charge sheet filed within 75 days and computer-based NEET exams instead of OMR sheets.
He also called paper leaks a pan-India organised crime and cited large-scale cheating in a Punjab pharmacy officer recruitment exam as an example, urging all parties to support the strict law.
