Attapur police arrested 25-year-old Syed Mohammed, a rowdy-sheeter, for entering a house in Hasan Nagar, Hyderabad, holding a knife to a man's throat and demanding ₹20,000.
The incident took place around 8 p.m. on September 4 at the home of Noor Jahan Begum, where Mohammed threatened her son Abdul Rehman and also threatened Noor Jahan with a knife when she intervened.
Mohammed fled when eyewitnesses tried to catch him, and a complaint was lodged at Attapur Police Station on September 13.
Police registered a case under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, and arrested the accused within 12 hours in a joint operation with the Rajendranagar Zone Task Force, seizing four knives and a mobile phone.
