The Andhra Pradesh government has disbursed ₹10,120 crore to about 42.7 lakh mothers under its Thalliki Vandanam scheme, benefiting around 67.47 lakh students, according to TDP leader Kalava Srinivasulu.
The scheme, part of the coalition's 'Super Six' poll promises, pays money directly into bank accounts to help children from poor families stay in school.
The leader contrasted this with the previous YSRCP government's Amma Vodi scheme, which he said covered fewer students and was disbursed only four times.
Benefits also reached an additional 17,000 anganwadi children and students from BC, SC, ST and minority communities.
