Bengaluru transport authorities impose 4 million rupee fines on buses

Through the Reader lens: Transport authorities in Bengaluru conducted inspections on nearly 15,000 vehicles between September 11 and 15 during the Gauri-Ganesha festival. During these checks, they identified 309 vehicles that violated permit regulations, including unauthorized fare increases. Consequently, officials registered cases against 3,756 vehicles, seized 33 buses, and collected over 4 million rupees in fines along with tax arrears.
