Data presented to the Lok Sabha shows Tamil Nadu's share of India's merchandise exports rose to 13.3 per cent in FY26, up from 11.6 per cent the previous year, with the State's exports totalling $58 billion.
The growth was driven mainly by electronics, where exports jumped 36 per cent to $19.9 billion, making Tamil Nadu account for about 42 per cent of India's electronics exports, supported by major smartphone manufacturing facilities.
Engineering goods also grew to $20 billion, while leather exports declined and textiles stayed flat.
The State has remained India's third largest exporter for three consecutive years even as overall national exports grew only marginally.
