Kulathinal Gangadharan Pillai, a veteran carrier of the Sabarimala Thiruvabharanam (sacred ornaments), died on Friday at the age of 92 following age-related ailments.
He had been part of the procession group carrying the sacred ornaments chest from Pandalam to the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple since he was 18, first joining his father on the annual journey.
Though he retired years ago, he continued receiving the ornament chest from the Pandalam Palace and accompanied it to Sabarimala until 2025.
His cremation will be held at his house on Saturday.
