The four-laning of the Tumakuru-Shivamogga section of National Highway-69 is nearly done, with three of four work packages completed or substantially complete, the Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry told the Lok Sabha.
The final package, the 56.33-km Bettadahalli-Shivamogga stretch costing ₹2,083 crore, is at 83.78% progress and is now scheduled for completion by March 31, 2027.
The project is being built under the Hybrid Annuity Model with a total sanctioned cost of over ₹5,900 crore across the four packages.
The Minister attributed highway delays generally to issues such as land acquisition, statutory clearances, utility shifting and contractor performance.
