Kia unveils concept for flex fuel Syros vehicle

At the launch event of its flagship Sorento SUV in India on Friday, Kia also unveiled several other vehicles, including a Carens Clavis CNG and the Carnival Hybrid.
The brand revealed its first flex fuel car concept for the country, choosing the Syros for this, capable of running on pure petrol, pure ethanol and blends of the two.
The Syros flex fuel uses a 1.0-litre three-cylinder direct injection turbo petrol engine with updated ECU, TCU and fuel systems, and a 6-speed torque converter automatic instead of the standard model's 7-speed dual clutch.
Kia has shared no launch date or production details, so it remains a technology demonstrator for now.

Kia is yet to announce when or whether a production version of the Syros flex fuel will arrive.
Other automakers are also working on flex fuel vehicles — Maruti Suzuki has launched the WagonR flex fuel, while Tata Motors and Mahindra are preparing theirs.
The engine's power and torque figures for the Syros flex fuel have not been revealed.
