- The death toll from flash floods in Nepal has risen to 1,344, with around 4,900 people still missing after an ice-rock avalanche near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26 triggered floods along the Bhotekoshi River.
- The floods swept away homes, vehicles, roads and bridges across northern and central Nepal, with Chitwan district recording the most bodies recovered at around 360.
- More than 13,000 people have been rescued, and joint rescue teams led by the Nepal Army, aided by experts from India and China, are working to reach hundreds of men believed trapped in tunnels at hydropower projects.
- The disaster also killed at least 21 people in Tibet, where over 500 remain missing.
