- A large Neelakurinji bloom has been reported on tea plantation land owned by Kanan Devan Hills Plantations at Korandakkad and Mattupetty near Munnar, at an elevation of 6,000 feet.
- The flowering, which began in late August, is the first mass bloom in these areas since 2014.
- KDHP opened the hills to visitors on September 3 for paid trekking, with the route starting along the Munnar–Top Station road and KSRTC shuttle buses available to and from the entry point.
- The trekking route was inaugurated by Devikulam MLA A. Raja at the Korandakkad entry point near High Range School.
