Puttaparthi Urban police arrested a 28-year-old man, Alex Manohar Pawar alias Murali from Gujarat, for allegedly stealing ₹17,45,450 from the accounts section of Sanskruthi College at Brahmanapalli on the night of July 23.
Police recovered ₹4.5 lakh in cash along with a smart watch, mobile phone and a bag from him.
Two other suspects in the case, from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, are absconding, and three special teams have been formed to catch them.
Pawar has allegedly been involved in seven burglary cases across the country, and a case has been registered under various sections of the BNS.
