A house in K. Muddanahalli village in Holenarasipura taluk was burgled and gold, silver and cash worth about ₹35.64 lakh were stolen from a cupboard.
The house belongs to Puttaswamy, who works as security staff at Canara Bank in Elechagahalli, and the theft came to light on September 8 after the locker key went missing.
Police said the stolen items include 236 grams of gold ornaments, 64 grams of silver ornaments and ₹12,000 in cash, and a case has been registered at Hallimysore police station.
In a separate incident, a scooter rider named Mailarishetti died after a goods vehicle hit his scooter near Bittagowdanahalli circle in Hassan on the night of September 12.
