The central government has approved a hike in the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) for officers, employees, and non-union supervisors in Central Public Sector Enterprises, effective from July 1, 2026.
The revision applies to staff under the 1987, 1997, 2007, and 2017 pay scales, with new IDA rates set at Rs 18,298 (1987 scale), 476.9% (1997 scale), 241.7% (2007 scale), and 55.7% (2017 scale).
The actual increase in each employee's salary will depend on their basic pay and pay scale; for example, an officer with a basic pay of Rs 55,000 would get an IDA of Rs 30,635 under the 55.7% rate.
The Department of Public Enterprises has notified the change and instructed administrative ministries to ensure their CPSEs implement the revised rates.
