The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has announced a 15% water supply cut in parts of Mumbai for 20 hours starting 9am on Tuesday, July 28, until 5am on Wednesday, July 29.
The reduction will affect the island city, western suburbs and eastern suburbs while maintenance work is carried out at the Panjrapur Mumbai-3A Pumping Station, which supplies water to the Bhandup Water Treatment Plant.
The work is part of an infrastructure upgrade in which four of the station's ten ageing 6.6 kV high-tension control panels will be replaced in the first phase, with the remaining six to be replaced later.
The BMC has appealed to residents to use water judiciously during the shutdown.
