In Jharkhand's Ramgarh district, two brothers aged 15 and 10 died of a high fever after their family relied on a faith healer's rituals for three days instead of taking them to a hospital.
The boys were rushed to Ramgarh Sadar Hospital only after they fell unconscious, but died on the way.
Their mother, Sangeeta Devi, who also had the fever, is in critical condition and has been referred to RIMS in Ranchi.
Authorities are investigating possible causes of the fever, including contaminated water, and the block officer has promised compensation to the family under government rules.
